Imagine Another Way
In 2013, 36 hours before the inaugural year end show, the guest of honor would disappear. 8 hours later, the pity party ended as I would receive some imaginative advice. "You're a writer. Write a different ending." And so I did and we built Bridges instead.

There is always a solution, but sometimes,  we must imagine another way. Only this time, time nor the platform allow it.

The Needs as of 12/27/16

1. Website Theme
2. Online and Offline Set Up Assistant. 4 hours per day
3. Graphic Designer
4. Writer
5. Promotions
6.  Minor Repairs/Upgrades to Network
7. Cameraman

The 2016 Season-ending Show is more than entertainment, but the culminatin of finding answers and solutions and maintaining the humanity as we move deeper into a society online.

History

Brief Overview
On Jan 1, 2013 the story began. From near and far over the next 4 years, more than 200 artists, activists, academics and everyday people found  their way to an underground stage, assuring their contribution, to the story of us was made. On a platform of Peace in an all-inclusive arena, over a million times viewers would see it. And with groundbreaking productions like The Lives We Live - the very first social media/blog spun Reality Show and annual online community service events, like 2016 Mental Health Week.

But underneath the excitement of the shows, and social awareness  of the events,  it was the literature, written with the ability to engage, no matter how conflicted, the topic, that made it a home.  So the bridge built between a blog on Wordpress and a Page on Facebook would evolve into society online,  that turned a blog post into a Performance.

The Show that Funds THE SHOW
initially riases funds, simply to  give The Neighborhood a proper send off, as the Season-ending Shows were the popular both in participation and audience numbers. And while the goal remains remains the same, the end of the story  has not yet been written, leaving room for a ray of hope to shine in.

"It is my vision that The Neighborhood become an international destination for entertainment, for discussion, for discovery, for intrigue and most importantly, for peace. Developing, designing and building the type of all-inclusive atmosphere, takes planning, promoting, imagination, intensity and sincerity. But all of those things become moot, without people to share in this journey, that unveils itself a little each day."

Social Consciousness Arrives
stirred by the temperature of the 2016 US Election

and it would prove to be too much, as found in  Bringing Down the House, Nov 30, 2016

"For nearly four years, The Neighborhood would provide original, thought-provoking and socially conscious online entertainment. For those who could not imagine, it was just a highly-inventive blog. But for those who closed their eyes and clicked their heels, they had discovered Never Never Land, filled with one grand performance after another, staged by a collaborative of brilliant artists. Over 200 would lend their craft: singers, photographers, writers, activists and everyday people who longed to make a contribution to the story of us. And to them, I will be forever grateful, but so should a society on and offline. "

"Noooo! Keep the brilliant light shining/" - Pauline Houston McCall

Reasons to Give go Beyond the Moment as The Neighborhood is An Achievement

COMMON GROUND

The Neighborhood has stood firm on the all-inclusive format, and it has become no less than a template or proven starting point.

OUR BIGGEST STAGE

Seasons begin in March and end Dec 30th with a 3 month hiatus so the season ending shows are always the most popular. 2013 & 2014 ending the season with thepublicblogger Awards. 2015 broken new crowd with the success of A Star is Born. But 2016 will no doubt produce the largest audience ever, as it could need by the swan song.

"I am sorry for The Neighborhood to go. I must admit that I never knew there was a need for monetary submissions. Somehow I missed that." - Douglas Knight

Our Sincere Gratitude to All Future Donors

$5.00 Donations is all we ask. More if you have the ability to do so and if you understand the magic and magnitue of the reach, I hope this where you shout out "I Support" with dollars. You are making a contribution toward what has been accomplished or helping to establish the foundation for The Neighborhood to continuing building an all-inclusive, collaborative community of original entertainment in the underground arts, and learning through a shared knoweledge exchange and proven to work.

Grassroots, artists communities and social conscious organizations,  should not initially rely on sponsors and corporate funding, because the attraction should be developed, nurtured with a collaborative.  But when the imagination sees no limits, and as it is built, they are coming from all over an online world for a multitude of reasons, it takes funding to build on what is being accomplished.

More About Kendall F. Person

As a former fundraiser for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and equipped with a wealth of knowledge from applied experiience in corporate and small book publishing markting & promotions, that should not have been an issues once the need was felt, but it became clear from the $107.00 donated - ever - that I had not conveyed the  financial  weight and time commitment, that The Neighborhood demands. But as i have learned, so entrenched in the creative force, the left of the brain, had overuled the right.

Meet The Artists in Words and Video

"You cannot produce content, direct shows, recruit and vet participants and deal with the intense DRAMA of marketing online performance art, advertising, integrating Facebook, Twitter and WordPress while promoting and monitoring an aggressive fundraising campaign to get the money to keep The Neighborhood going." -  Robert Goldstein, Art by Goldstein
