Help me TNKR!
Donation protected
My name is Jessie Behrman and I am an ESL teacher in Bundang, Korea! I spent the last year and a half teaching in Seoul and during that time I volunteered with an organization called Teach North Korean Refugees, TNKR.
I am back teaching in Korea and I am back volunteering with the program. TNKR is a non-profit organization that helps connect English tutors with North Korean refugees in South Korea. TNKR started in 2013 with Casey Lartigue and Lee Eunkoo. Here is of Casey speaking at Harvard about the program. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFPNLwMKwfo
Volunteering is something I am passionate about and I am so excited that I have this oppotrunity while living in Korea to give back to the community helping refugees while doing something I love.
I am passionate about helping these refugees and their committment to learn English, and how this program helps. TNKR is completely volunteer work meaning teaching resources, tutoring expenses, and traveling expenses are all at the expense of the tutor. Additionally, TNKR is in need of funds to further the organization of the cost to lease buildings for the in-house tutoring, orientations, materials and providing scholarships to refugees.
Any donation will be a huge help to the program and it will be so appreciated!
Please contact me if you have further questions!
Thank you so much for your consideration and help!
