Stand With Survivors of Holtzclaw

Every Black woman deserves we STAND WITH HER

On January 21, 2016  Black Women's Blueprint is organizing a National Justice Ride to Stand With the Survivors of Holtzclaw. This campaign will bring activists, artists, and community members of color from across the country to the Oklahoma County Court House in OKC, in a national stand against the sexualized brutalization of Black women and girls by the State or private citizens.

We are a national membership organization and collective including healers, community organizers, cultural workers, media specialists, counselors, and legal professionals (from everywhere between New York City and Oklahoma City) and we will stand with Black women.

COLLECTIVE AGENDA:
January 19-20: Travel days
January 20: A Call for Justice As Defined by Black
Women, a Healing March, and efforts on the ground, coordinated with local community groups and individuals;
January 21:  We #StandWithHer as the Holtzclaw Verdict is Read
January 22: Craft next steps and key action items in the movement to Center Black Women. Riders return to their communities  ready to organize within their local networks and across the nation.

Each day, space will be created to Tell Your Own Story annonymously or with support from a social worker/healer.

ANYTHING YOU CAN GIVE WILL HELP:
1. Cover travel (i.e. gas and tolls; bus and/or van rentals), housing, and/or for riders in need of financial assistance;

2. Purchase needed materials and supplies;

3. Support any urgent costs which arises from the StandWithHer action, if nessary (i.e. legal fees and other safety matters);

4. Support the families of the Sisters directly impacted in OKC. A percentage of the funds raised will be provided to the sisters themselves and their families; and

5. Support OKC Artists for Justice, a local advocacy organization created to give voice to the women and girls of Oklahoma bruatalized by police.

This action is about the necessary need for healing and justice which so many of us feel so deeply in our bones.
For those of us re-traumatized by these particular incidents—the heinous murders, and rapes of our own, our sons, our sisters, we must continue the spiritual traditions that will help to heal our broken hearts and most of all, sustain and embody the basic notion that civil and human rights is our heritage.
