Canku Ota (Many Paths) is an online e-zine for and about Native Americans. We publish monthly and share good news from Indian Country. We also have one of the most extensive links section on the web. My husband, Paul and I work from our home and have no funding. We need your support to keep us going.

It's important to encourage our youth and share information with educators on how to be culturally sensitive. That's what we do!

Dear All,

This isn't an easy letter for me to write as I feel like we've let you down. However, in my pea sized brain, I'm justifying it by the fact that it's been over 2 years since I truly begged.

First, may I send my sincere wishes for a wonderful Holiday Season for you and yours.

Second, and hardest...begging. I'm not sure if you've seen my recent postings about my health issues. In August, I was admitted to our local hospital due to kidney failure and a fall. I came out with a partial tear in my right rotator cuff (which I just had the MRI on Tuesday because we didn't have the money) and a broken tooth, which because of other dental issues caused me to have 7 teeth and and upper denture done on Wednesday. Then, Thursday morning I fell and broke my leg in at least one place. (I can't get in to see the Ortho Doc until tomorrow).

The result of all of this is we are in a bad way. Finances are a big part of the decisions on my health and I fear that I'm in for surgery on both the shoulder and the leg. And, as you can imagine, there's no Christmas at our house.

Lastly, Canku Ota is suffering. I try to do what I do on an outdated laptop and the rest is up to Paul (most if up to Paul). I feel strongly that in this scary world that it's important to share the good thing that are happening for Indian Youth. With the right equipment, and resolution of some of my health issues, I could go back to truly promoting C/O as I did in year's past.

Is there anything that you (or anyone you know) could do to help us?

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.

I wish you only the best.

Vicki

Happy Spring to all. It's beautiful in South Louisiana and we are grateful.

I haven't asked for your help in a very long time, but we are still here and still squeaking by.

Can't you try to send anything? Small amounts can add up and are as appreciated as the larger ones.

Thank to all who enjoy our site.
