I don't know how the adults in the board can even ponder getting rid of an airplane. I'm 30 now, and I still think that having a plane in a kids park is amazing. It's these adults that are killing "childhood", freedom, and imagination.

I've visited airplane park a number of times over the course of a few decades and was always impressed that such a marvelous artifact was so close at hand and so accessible. It'd be a shame for that to end. Airplane Park is a wonderful tourist destination.

Yes I agree with Joan, many happy memories of old Monroe and Central Valley. My brother Ed and I went over the first day the plane arrived, along with the Menkens kids. So much fun "flying" the plane, and playing on its' slide.

I grew up in Central Valley and during the summer my mom would take us over to the Three Bears for Ice cream and a chance to play on the plane. The slide was still on it and you could sit in the cockpit and play with the stick. Fun times

Growing up in the area in the 70's.....I fondly remember playing on that jet for hours......too bad there isn't an "app" to utilize for this......sorry for the sarcasm but if we don't remember, cherish, and honor the past....what have we learned from it? What is the dollar amount needed for refurbishment?

Town taxes are outrageous they can't or couldn't find the money over the years to repair the plane? This was a tribute to the men who fought and died in the korean war. Shame on Monroe for not keeping it up
