11/21/18 - ***UPDATE*** We have a new baby SISTER!!! 7lb 11oz 19 in Bethany Dawn-Marie Ray, Mom said she couldn’t name her Russel. What a surprise!!! Prayers needed as we navigate through getting this angel from California to Mom's home in Texas.
Hello my name is Cassie Lindeman, I am the oldest of 12 children, our parents, Alan and Vicki Ray have 6 grown biological children and 6 adopted children, Cassie (40), Crystal (39), Cheri (37), Joseph (36), Bonnie (34), Beverly (33), Christina (13), Emily (9), Christian (6), James(5), Grace (3), and Alana (23 months). November is National Adoption Awareness Month, and this November we will be welcoming a new member to our family, Russel Wayne Ray. All 7 adopted children are biological siblings and our Mom has always felt in her heart that these children deserve to be raised together. Russel is due on November 23rd and our mom is anxiously awaiting the phone call so that she can travel to California to welcome him into our hearts. In 2012 God placed a conviction in our parents’ hearts, after raising 6 kids of their own, they began a journey to adopt 3 siblings who had been separated from each other and placed in temporary foster care in California. It was a hard, long, and emotional journey, but the evidence of God’s will in motion was undeniable. As the kids began to be placed with our parents, the 3 siblings became 4, and then later 5. For 4 years our parents fought tooth and nail to get all 5 kids in their forever home and adoptions finalized. During this time our Dad became ill with a rare autoimmune disease, after battling for 2 years in August of 2016, he was given his angel wings and went to his forever home with Jesus. Although our hearts were crushed and heavy with the loss of our Dad, later that year God Blessed our family again. Sibling no 6, Alana who is named after our Father, was born and came to live with her siblings and her forever family. Our mom continues to work full time while raising these six kids with the help and support of our family. She also continues the ministry that our dad established, Ray of Light Outreach, which delivers food to families in need surrounding Lovelady, on occasion spending from her own personal grocery funds. Growing up our parents always sacrificed so that we could have the best childhood they could provide. They taught us the true meaning of faith, love, humility, compassion, and instilled in us the importance of family. Our mom continues to mirror these values as she raises our 6 younger siblings.
Many people have helped our family with gifts, love and support throughout this journey, however no fundraiser has been established to financially assist our mom. We are asking for your help and consideration to aid with the cost of the flight to and from California, the stay in California, essential baby care items, excess funds would go towards other adoption expenses. I personally would love to see enough funds raised to help with the completion of a much needed home addition that our mom began when Daddy passed. We sincerely appreciate any help and support you can provide. We are united with love and compassion as we await the arrival of this angel into our family.
I Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Our parents had faith in the conviction that God had placed in their hearts, so that these children might have hope of being raised together as a family, for a better and brighter future, and above all this, together as a family, we will fill their lives with the peace and assurance of God’s unconditional love.
