Post Ramadan Community Evening: Friday 30 June
To thank our volunteers, refugees and our community for the great support they have provided to our project, we would like to invite them to an evening of friendship, music, and as always, delicious food. We would also like to use this opportunity to introduce our community to the new collaboration between Our House Project and the Selma Initiative. Selma initiative aims to encourage and empower women and girl refugees, in line with the mission of the international and world-wide “Women’s Foundation” .
We ask you to help us fund this evening. The delightful menu of Afghan food will be prepared by the Selma Initiative refugees, most of whom are still living in centers. The funding is needed for the cost of ingredients and the the venue.
The event is planned to be held at GC Kontakt at Avenue Orban 54, 1150 Woluwe-Saint-Pierre
The evening will officially kick off at 18:00 with the following programme:
18:00 : Introduction to the event and an explanation of the two initiatives and their future plans together.
18:30: Fun activity to bring the community together
19:00: Iraqi singer begins performance
19:00: Buffet opens and service begins
20:30: Testimony of selected refugees
22:00: Close
We have a limited capasity for the event so help us keep a track of how many are attending by sending an email to info@ourhouseproject.org or contacting us through our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/ourhouseproject.org/
If you would like to volunteer some of you time toward the preparations in the kitchen for the event, we would welcom the support. Do let us know this also.
Preparations in the kitchen will begin at 8am. We would love for the event to be a joint effort between the both the receiving and arriving communities.
Kindest regards
Barbara Winn-Hagelstam
