PNW Standing Rock Clean-Up Crew

Urgent: The deadline for the clean-up of the Oceti Oyate/Camp Sakowin Camps area is now February 22, 2017. In cooperation with the Bunk Bus folks, we are assembling an experienced, responsible and respectful volunteer Clean-up Crew to head out from Portland the week of 2/13/17 and return home to Portland, OR by 2/24/2017.
We have a budget worked out for this Clean-Up Crew PDX and hope to cover the essentials as well as contingency funds. We now hope to raise about $4,000 to cover a van or two to send well-prepared experienced people to volunteer on a Clean-Up Crew as described above.
We started this campaign a couple months ago and raised $3,100 which was used to fund camps and water protectors with high-priority needs. We have raised the campaign amount here to $8,000 to allow for this additional amount to be raised. Hope that is not confusing!
You can help by donating here any amount of funds that you can. Funds will be allocated by a committee decision based on need, timeliness and impact. All funds will be appropriately used and allocated via committee decision-making and oversight.
You can also donate gas cards and supplies for the transport of supplies and support people going out to Standing Rock in the coming days. Email us to confirm what you have is useful at the time.
More about us: Pacific Northwest Stands with Standing Rock is a local Native-led community association formed by people from all backgrounds and races, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to help respond to the urgent need in Cannonball, North Dakota. Funds help the water protectors and camps who are protecting the water, native rights and sacred lands. 100% volunteer run, we help Pacific Northwest groups and individuals travel to and from Standing Rock with gas cards, food, emergency lodging, vehicles maintenance and repair, gear, fuel, etc. Supplies are being collected and transported out to Standing Rock. Supplies are also being purchased closer to the site to limit use of fossil fuels. Support is needed until the camps are completely broken down and cleaned up.
