As a single mom to an Autistic 6 year old boy, I get no support or help. I understand the hardships that parents encounter on a daily with disabled/special needs children, without having to worry about finances. I never want any family I know to go "without" on Christmas.
ODC is an online toy/tablet drive for Disabled/Special Needs Children and their families. When you donate to Operation Daejha Claus you track your donation from beginning to end. I set it up this way for a number of reasons but, it is working amazingly so far. Donors have two options in giving. You can pick a child and what items you would like to donate for that child and send it directly to the family yourself OR you can send me an EGift Card or Visa Gift Card to [email redacted]. Either way, on Christmas Morning all the recipients have agreed to post pictures of their kids with the items you sent them. I am only here to help make your giving easy on you since I know so many people have busy schedules and no time go shop for their recipients. I am glad to help. If you send a gift card you will still be able to pick out which child you want to receive, your donation and you will be in contact with that child's family on Christmas. It's a win/win for all!
This is our 4th year on the Christmas Program and 3rd year on the Easter Basket Drive. Every donation adds up! Even $5.00. If you work in an office maybe a group of coworkers can adopt a child and everyone chip in a few dollars for a toy and pair of pajamas. Maybe you know someone who does well for themselves and might want to contribute to this cause. Either way please share this page with your friends and help me reach our goal this year!
2012 - We helped 36 families with multiple children receive toys valued at $50+ and a pair of Character Pajamas per child.
2013 - We were able, through our donors generosity, to donate 10 tablets to children with Special Needs plus pajamas and toys to those who did not receive a tablet.
2014 - We helped 13 Recipients receive Ipads,
Innotabs, Toys and Pajamas.
2015- This year we need Go Fund Me donations and item donations. Each "recipient" family has different needs so some may require more money than the next to get their items. For example, a girl who got a tablet last year will get a digital camera this year or a child with downs syndrome who needs and Ipad because of he AMAZING Apps Apple offers.
I have had many people ask if I have a website up for this, I do not at this time. However, We are in the process of creating a non profit. For now though, I do this from my heart, with my personal friends on facebook who are uber generous and too kind when it comes to giving to this Amazing Fundraiser! Again, I cannot provide you a tax write off but, I can provide you a picture of your gift being held by that little smiling face that you so generously thought about and gave to from your heart. Trust me, the pics alone are worth every effort I put into this. N no I do not ask for donations for my son, nor do I include him in this program (even though technically we both qualify, lol) I am making this page because a number of you have asked me to, so here you go =D
