South Africa Study Abroad 2016

My name is Nicole Bertolini and I am a second year veterinary student at Texas A&M University. This gofundme account is meant to support my journey within the veterinary field. My passion for veterinary medicine began when I was young and has only continued to develop. I have a large interest in zoo/wildlife medicine and heard of an opportunity to learn about this type of medicine hands-on in South Africa. This study abroad takes place the summer of 2016 and will include a pharmacology course, the medical treatment of Africa's exotic wildlife, and active involvement in wildlife conservation. It is a three week course where we will be working sun up to sun down.  I will be traveling and learning alongside my classmates, professors, and colleagues. I have never had the opportunity to study abroad before and this specific course will not only emerse me in South African culture, but will improve my skills as a veterinarian while fulfilling one of my biggest dreams. The full amount will be due by February and including travel it costs about $8000-9000. Words cannot describe how thankful I will be if I can make this dream a reality. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work alongside professionals who are specialists in their field and give back to Africa's diverse wildlife. 

The picture for my gofundme account is of some of my classmates who attended this study abroad this past summer. Every single one of them told me it has changed their life and they wish to go back.
