North Bay Aquatics Angel Fund 2016

Be A North Bay Aquatics Angel

This is the time of year when we reach out to you for your generosity in support of your Youth team’s swimming needs via the Angel Fund. This fund is 100% vested in 2 areas: 1 - making sure that those swimmers who have EARNED a travel trip can afford to attend, and 2 – funding a monthly scholarship to those who have a challenge meeting our monthly training fees. Your support of the youth portion of our collective team means that those who haven’t the total ability to simply write a check can still attend Regional and National meets as well as get the training they need to represent our team competitively.

These meets are the “carrot” that many swimmers chase. When swimmers achieve time standards AND can afford to travel they gain several important milestones; 1- they make the “travel team”, 2- they gain exposure to competition they don’t see locally, 3- they reap exposure to college swimming scouts (alumni and coaches) who attend these meets. All of this happens because A) they swim fast enough to make the qualifying standards and B) because they can afford to make the trip.

As an aside, last year of our swimmers earned in part because of their swimming at National level meets, admission to Bates, Harvard, Kenyon, Duke, Tufts, Harvey Mudd, George Washington,. This year we have swimmers, enhanced by their swimming accomplishments, already committed to Duke, Williams, Emory, Claremont McKenna, Northwestern…with others in the Que. Last summer we had four swimmers representing NBA at the Olympic Trials. That happens in large part to the exposure they had received to national competition.

Your tax deductible donation (always check with your CPA – we are a 501c3 corporation: # 56-2334651) is greatly appreciated and needed. When you make a contribution 5 things will happen: 1 – a swimmer who earns a trip can make the trip, 2 – you help fund a monthly need for training dues, 3- you know you have made a difference in the life of a younger Tuna, 4 – you earn a lesson from a Senior 1 level swimmer, 5 – you score some cool swag! Hard to say no, yes?

This year the NBA Tuna Tour makes stops in Seattle, College Station TX, Clovis (twice), Orlando,  and others. We were also able to support the national team by making sure that each eligible swimmer had a National Team warmup jacket and polo shirt.

Heartfelt thanks in advance of your generosity. Don, Ken and a pool full of young people of whom we are all extremely proud.
