Miss Maine USA 2018 Pageant

Donation protected
I am excited to announce that I have been selected as a State Finalist for the Miss Maine USA 2018 Pageant held  November 25th & 26th! The pageant is looking for a strong, confident, and intelligent young woman with poise and personality. This pageant is a vehicle for all competitors to seek new confidence, goals, self-discipline and inner beauty. The title holder at the end of the pageant will spend a year working with non-profits, charities and communities as well as representing Maine in the Miss USA 2018 pageant!

I am truly honored to be able to participate in this pageant and represent my home, Mount Dessert Island, and I truly beleive I am the prefect canidate to represent  the great state of Maine in the Miss USA 2018 Pagaent.

This pageant is much more than the glitz and glam for me. It's about empowering other women, being a role model and understanding what it means to be strong women. It would mean the world to be a title holder and set an example for young women in Maine. Personal growth has always been important to me and I have no doubt this pageant will create opportunity for me to grow as a young adult and potentially help me with a career in the future.

I am also proud to share that I was recently promoted to Sergeant (E-5) in the Maine Army National Guard and selected as Non Commissioned Army Officer of the year in my unit. I graduted from the University of Maine in December 2016 with an Interpersonal Communication degree. I've worked very hard for these accomplishments and I am ready to work just as hard toward a new goal. Competing in this pageant is unlike anything I've ever done but I am ready to combined my life experience, passion, ambition,  and confidence as a pageant girl/ State Representative.

All donations will significantly help me towards this goal! Donations will go towards pageant fees, traveling to Portland for meetings/coaching, wardrobe, and hair and make-up cost. I am truly grateful for all the support & confidence many of you have shared already. I cannot take you all enough for taking the time to read this page & make a donation. This coming November I promise to make all of you proud and strut all that I have on stage for the judges!

THANK YOU! <3

A Short History about Marina Gray:
Growing up in a small town on the coast of Maine, I didn't really understand how big the world was or how much opportunity it had for me. I'll I really knew is that I had a passion for finding love and happiness within those that surrounded me. This passion was the vehicle for me to seek more love and happiness within myself.  I started setting goals and building confidence at a young age. I found  goal setting and hard work was the most secure way for me to feel successful, confident and happy.
While building new relationships and communication skills as a young girl,  the desire to become a motivational speaker became my dream. This dream has never tarnished. I gave my first speech impersonating Grover Cleveland (22nd & 24th President) as a second grader & this is where I realized I was much larger than stage fright & fear itself. I then found myself as class president in 8th grade as well as freshmen and sophomore year of high school. Though these accomplishments may seem small, they meant the world to me. These where the building blocks that kept me curious of where else life could take me.
The drive to improve my life really took full force when I became emancipated & moved away from home at 16 years old. Since then, my drive hasn't stopped. I have accomplished many things in my 22 years of life, which most recently include graduating with a degree in Interpersonal Communication and a minor in Psychology from the University of Maine, as well as being promoted to Sergeant (E-5) in the Maine Army National Guard. I have recived many awards durring my time in the guard, made deans list in college, competed at a national level for collegent cheerleading and just spent the winter at Sugarloaf moutain and became a phenomenal skiier!
I want to use my story to help other young women find confidence within themselves and understand how strong you can really be, even when life gets really hard. Holding the title of Miss Maine USA and being an ambassador of Maine would mean the world to me. I never imagined myself as much of a girly girl, but this road to competition keeps getting more clear. This is an opportunity and an outlet for me to develop as a motivational speaker, share my story,  as well as achieve success and self understanding.  I am excited to work towards this new goal & share this experience with all of you.

Lots of Love,
Marina Gray (Rosie), xoxo
