Merritt Family Adoption-

Hi! We are Kayla & Peyton Merritt. We would like to share some big news that we are so excited about!!! We are adopting a little girl! She will be between the ages of 1-4 years old and will be from Colombia. We are so thankful God has led us in this direction and after much discussion and a lot of prayer we are ready to move forward with this life changing decision. We hope that you will be a part of this journey with us. Above anything, we would greatly appreciate your continued prayers. I have heard that adoption is not for the faint of heart and I am already realizing this to be true. Specific areas we are asking for prayer are strength to get through the stressful and tough times, perseverance during the paperwork/home study process, patience during the waiting process and the ability to raise the funds needed to bring our girl home. Other ways to contribute are by being a part of the fundraisers we will be doing in the coming months or by simply donating monetarily you feel led. Also, to provide a little background on how God has led us to adoption, here goes...…… as most of our close friends and family know, Peyton was adopted at 4 months old. It touched my heart so much to know that he could have been living in a orphanage or jumping from foster home to foster home, but instead because his parents chose adoption he didn’t have to live that life. Since we got married almost 10 years ago, I felt God pulling at my heart strings about adoption, placing the desire in my heart to adopt a child one day. I didn't think much of it at the time being that I was only 22 years old, but over the years, that desire has become stronger. Because of adoption, Peyton had a real chance at a life that all children deserve. Because a birth mom who made the best decision possible for her child and chose life, Peyton was blessed to be adopted my amazing Christian parents, raised by both a Mom AND a Dad and the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a part of a real family. Fast forward to today, we have been blessed with two wild and crazy little blessings, Eli (4) and Easton (2). They keep us on our toes and some days we question if we are ready for this, but when God is calling you to something, he doesn’t leave you alone about it even if it is scary and puts you out of your comfort zone! We desire to complete our little family with a precious little girl who I know God has already picked out specifically for us!
