A memorial to stand so proud,
To catch the eye of the passing crowd.
Take a rest have a seat,
See who passes, who you meet.
And while you sit in the cool day air,
Think about these stone carved chairs.
To some it’s just a piece of stone,
To others, a symbol that this was once, their home.
And when you leave here, And Leave you must.
Remember those Riflemen, who now are Dust,
R.I.P
In memory of all Riflemen.
Who have passed through Peninsula Barracks
And called It “Home”.

Every November, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, stands at the Cenotaph and salutes the fallen, we are asking that you help us continue our Colonel in Chief salute every day of the year.
How?
By giving.
Why, whats it for?
Every November men and women stand side by side none getting any younger, wondering who will fall next, who wont be here next year who will carry on the memory the respect for those who gave but did not return.
We are placing two benches/chairs in the Barracks they called home, to remember and honour, carry forward Her Majesty's salute.
The family of Green, The Royal Green Jackets was disbanded in 2007, however its successors The RIFLES still carry forward its illustrious history made by men as far back as the Napoleonic era, up until now, so many campaigns so many fallen, the successors the Rifles have had heavy losses of men,some very young career soldiers, in Afghanistan,young men dying in baron lands, with families waiting to bring them home.
The family of green an affectionate term, symbolising unity of all our antecedents and our successors wish to bring them home, in a form of two chairs at the ancestral home as a quiet reflective place , where visitors,and family young and old can reflect, take a while and sit to honour and remember them.
So in order to carry on the salute we ask that you give , every penny counts .
Make those that have gone count.
All Gave Some, Some Gave All.
