MaryEllen Flatley Gannon Fund
Donation protected
The reason for this "gofundme" page is to help the family of an incredible person that has passed, much to early, from extremely unfortunate circumstances. MaryEllen Flatley Gannon was a true friend to all that have known her. A wonderful sister, cousin, aunt, daughter/sister-in-law, an amazing wife to Wayne and the most outstanding mother to her two children, Brendan and Connor.
At the start of 2017, MaryEllen was feeling terribly ill and was rushed to the emergency room. The doctors misdiagnosed her with an infection and sent her home. She then was rushed to a different hospital a week later and was then diagnosed with colon cancer and had to have emergency surgery. After recovering from the surgery, she received chemotherapy for 6 months, which made her violently sick and horribly weak, beyond anything that I have ever seen . At that point, the doctors scanned her to see if she could do without the last 3 sessions of chemo.
The doctor, after the scan, said she was cancer free and sent her home to hopefully beat what the cancer and chemo had done to her, now, worn out, weak and frail body.
A week later she re-entered the hospital extremely ill to find out the cancer had spread to her stomach and her brain. Cancer free???? From that point, it was only a couple days before she passed away which devastated her family and friends because it was so completely unexpected.
Wayne is now highly burdened with exorbitant medical expenses, the cost of living of keeping a home, and raising two children on his own.
Whatever you feel is acceptable will be greatly appreciated by Wayne, Brendan, and Connor. It would bring warmth to MaryEllen's heart knowing that her family is being cared for especially by so many who loved her.
And...especially around her favorite holiday...CHRISTMAS!!!!!
MaryEllen, our newest angel. She has always been an angel...she just has her wings now. Fly angel. We all love you and miss you!!!
