Marcus Rising from the Ashes

The devastating Valley Fire that broke out on Cobb Mt., CA on September 12th has burned down my art studio and has destroyed  all my hand tools, power tools, wood working machines, carpentry benches and all my belongings. I was not able to get rental insurance for my place as it was too close to the trees, yet it was a choice to create my art on this beautiful and peaceful mountain in close proximity to the very forest where the wood and the inspiration for all my work comes from. This is a call for immediate help so I can start focusing on rebuilding: buying tools and necessary equipment to continue my work that is so closely tied to the larger picture of restoring harmony with nature through raising consciouness about our interrelationship with trees. I have hundreds of photos of this beautiful forest that I am putting together in combination with photos of the destruction that I intend to take once I am allowed back up on the mountain. With this exhibit combiend with my sculptures from the trees of the forest that were destroyed, I hope to raise awareness about the envirionmental crisis we all globally face and present solutions for how we can come back into balance and harmony with nature.

The losses from this fire are deeply personal to me and yet the situaltion is affecting us all on a global level. Awakening to a consciousness that restores harmony on the planet and reestablishes an understanding of our symbiotic relationship with nature and dependence on trees for our survival is an urgent call.
