My name is Mandy Ree, and I am a disabled blogger and self advocate, who has works published on many sites, like Two Thirds Of The Planet , Easterseals Thrive , and The Mighty . I am working on a variety of projects over the next few months, one in which is near and dear to my heart. I am planning on doing a presentation of my works and how I found my voice at the Advocates in Action Statewide Self Advocacy Conference in October, held in Warwick Rhode Island on October 27. I want to help empower others to find their voice and share their stories, but one thing is stopping me from doing so...conference fees
I am in between jobs currently, waiting for my new work assignment. By the time I get my work assignment, I won't make the conference deadline. I worked for months on this project and am worried I won't make the deadline on time.
I want to share my stories with those who otherwise wouldn't able to read them, and I think by being at this conference, I can make a difference in the lives of those with developmental disabilities.
The funds from this GoFundMe will help with the fees needed ($85) as well as the extras I needed to make this presentation more interactive, like business cards and small freebies as well as a connector wire for my tablet to connect with audio visual equipment Any extra money accrued by this campaign, I plan on donating to the Advocates in Action of Rhode Island for all they did to help me gain my voice and learn that having a disability shouldn't stop you from living your dreams.
Want to learn more about my works? Check out the link below to my blog, Legally Blind Bagged. There, you will find a link to my projects as well as my posts on The Mighty.
Thank you all for helping me. Feel free to share with your friends and family. Every little bit helps.
Love you all,
Mandy Ree
