HELP ! URGENT ! VERY STRESSED IN SHELTER ENVIRONMENT! and LET'S NOT WAIT TILL THESE PUPS GET SICK !! PLEASE PITCH IN ASAP TO HELP THIS FAMILY FIND RESCUE !
Mama Nicole is a highly sensitive dog and very protective of her pups. The inescapable noise and proximity to other dogs is really stressing her out in this environment and she is not sheltering well. We fear a prolonged stay in the shelter will cause her behavior to deteriorate. Since we have found her to be very nice and affectionate away from the noise, we believe she will be much more relaxed once she is in a home. Away from her pups, she has shown no aggression to other dogs.
If you can help Nicole and her pups, please contact us immediately so that we can get this sensitive mother to a more attentive home environment as soon as possible.
NICOLE arrived with her 4 ADORABLE black pups and though she was a bit scared and un-trusting at first, a few kind words and she was our best friend- letting us vaccinate and de-worm her on the spot.
Nicole is herself 3 years old, but a full grown 35 lbs. She was found as a stray in Tamarac and is a bit thin, with what appears to be some minor skin issues, possibly from malnutrition. Once she got over her initial fear at intake, Nicole was trying to crawl in our laps and let us handle her puppies with no problems. Happy and relieved no doubt, Nicole will be even MORE happy if she and her cubs get rescue right away. Since they arrived at Animal Care on October 10, they need out ASAP !
