LYNDHURST WAVES – 9/11 MEMORIAL
The Township of Lyndhurst was greatly affected by the events of September 11, 2001, due to its proximity to New York City and impact of friends, family and community members who perished. With the upcoming 15th anniversary, Lyndhurst High School would like to remember and honor the historic day.
We plan to do this through LYNDHURST WAVES, an art installation of 2,977 flags representing each individual we lost that day.
LYNDHURST WAVES was inspired by a similar display at Pepperdine University in California. Lyndhurst High School students will be involved in the installation, maintenance and removal of the project. The LHS Student Government is raising the necessary funds and coordinating this comprehensive initiative. We believe this will be an impactful lesson to our students, many of which were only infants at the time of this event in history.
We greatly appreciate any contribution that you can make in support of this worthwhile endeavor. Thank you all in advance from our entire community.
