Tanzania volunteer expedition 2019

Hi, I’m Lucy and I’m 17 years old.
In July 2019 I will be going on a 4 week expedition to Tanzania alongside some other students from my school, to volunteer my time in order to work on a number of projects which will focus on improving the quality of life for the local communities.
Poverty is widespread in rural Tanzania, many communities don’t have access to clean drinking water, healthcare, education or proper sanitation.
The project work typically involves traditional house building, renovation of school buildings or making improvements to sanitation conditions.
There are also many environmental and wildlife conservation challenges which require volunteers to help to restore and protect some of Tanzania’s most vulnerable habitats and animals.
Working out of doors all day in sweltering heat doing physically demanding tasks will be very challenging, and I shall be living without the luxuries which we take for granted in life.
This expedition will be a life changing opportunity for me and will hopefully make a massive difference to the communities which I will be helping.
The cost of the trip is over £4,000, and I am trying to pay for the trip myself through fundraising and work.
All of the money which I am able to raise will go towards my travel costs and to help fund a variety of projects.
