Volunteering in Africa

Me (Lauren) and my friend Olivia, are going to Cape Coast in Ghana for 6 weeks in October.  We have booked this once in a lifetime opportunity with Global Medical Projects, who are a reputable charity giving experience to those interested in medical placements. We have chosen our placement to be within the Midwifery field as this is something we are both passionate about. Throughout the placement we will be working alongside Ghanian midwives, monitoring women throughout their pregnancy and we will also assist with delivering babies. As well as volunteering in schools and an orphanage. 

This programme receives no funding and we are paying for it all ourselves, we both attend college full time and also work part time in order to raise as much money as possible. Therefore it would be greatly appreciated if you could make any donation no matter how big or small. Whilst volunteering in Ghana we are hoping to take some resources with us, things that we often take for granted within the NHS, so if people are unable to donate money then please get in touch if you could donate gloves or hand sanitiser etc for the hospitals or even small gifts for the children in the schools and orphanage.
