Three years ago, I began the road to gender transition after a night spent contemplating suicide. Gender Dysphoria had been a part of my life since I hit puberty, and it was getting worse the longer I left it unchecked.
Living life as my birth designated gender was slowly draining the life from me.
I began a process that day that has vastly improved my life, living under a new name and living a new life as a woman. It has been a reaffirming and comforting journey, but one that has not been without flaws.
The NHS sucks when it comes to promptly helping people access the tratment they need for Gender Dysphoria. They drag their heels at every stage, leaving people like me living full time in our new gender roles, but without access to medical help.
I have already been in the NHS system for three years, with another two to three years minimum remaining before I finally get through their nightmare of a system.
I am still a LONG wait from the NHS getting around to helping me with surgical options in regards to gender transition, and the longer I wait, the harder that wait becomes.
I'm on hormones, but every change to my body just highlights how much there is staying the same. Breast growth but I still have a penis. Fat redistribution, but I still have a huge adam's apple.
This funding campaign is designed to hopefully raise the money needed for me to undergo surgery privately in the UK, allowing me to finally deal with many of the remaining issues I have with my body.
£20,000 would allow me to have a Tracheal Shave, reducing the size of my adam's apple dramatically, as well as undergoing a Vaginoplasty in the UK.
Seriously, this would mean an unbelievable amount to me. I can't impress on you enough how much this would change my life.
