Kuttshill Property Referendum
Donation protected
The Concerned Citizens of Plainfield Township Coalition files a lawsuit in Circuit Court asking for the township to place on the ballot the re-zoning of the Kuttshill property, the ravines at Inwood. Please see attachments for more details.
The purpose for this referendum was to:
· Limit the number of homes that can be built, not crammed in Condos.
· Minimize the traffic issues.
· Lessen the strain on our schools that have already full classrooms.
We would like to make the following points:
· We are mystified why the township audited the signatures (we had 125% of what was needed) and Ruth Ann Karnes ran right to the township lawyer to see if they could invalidate the signatures, ignoring the “will of the people.”
· While collecting signatures every street was canvased in the township. The signatures came from the entire Plainfield Township.
· We filed our appeal on June 30 in Circuit court after exhausting all of our possible avenues with the township.
· We are just asking the court to put the referendum on the ballet and let the people decide if the re-zoning should happen.
· Since the township has left us no alternative but to go to court, we now need your help. This is going to be expensive so we set up a Go-Fund-Me site to collect money. Please contribute what you can. All money not used will be refunded proportionally.
