Our Story
We are so excited to share with our friends, family, and the world, that we are embarking on an exciting journey to adopt and bring home Baby Ashton! Adoption has been something that John and Kate had each considered prior to even meeting.
In the early 2000's- John was deployed to serve on a peace keeping mission to Bosnia. While there, John was moved by the number of children he saw residing in orphanages and growing up without families. He has often mentioned that he wishes there was something more he could have done. Ever since, John has known that adoption would help grow his own family.
While Kate does not have a single event in her life that has pointed her towards adoption. From an early age, Kate has always had a great love and compassion for others. In her heart, she has always felt called to grow her family by the means of adoption.
Collectively, John and Kate have known for years that God would grow their family through adoption- It was just- when and how. They feel confident that now is the right time to give a child a loving and healthy home.
Our Expenses
Adoption can be costly and we are saving every bit we can but are asking for your help to hopefully get us one step closer to our goal of bringing Baby Ashton home. We are planning on adopting domestically but there are still numerous expenses with applications, home study fees, and legal fees that on average amount to $30,000 to $35,000. ($25,000 of that being fees for Adoption Bridges of Kentuckiana and $5,000-10,000 in legal expenses for ourself and the birth mother.) We have set our goal for $20,000 and hope to save for the rest.
Your gift of any amount will enable us to become to cool parents we believe that we can be and to give a child a loving and happy home.
This is a break down of our anticipated costs to adopt
Application and program fees: $6,500.
Home Studies: $1,500.
Match Fees: $12,000.
Legal Fees for Birth Parents and Ourselves: $10,000
Possible Medical bills of Birth Parent: $3,000
