Hello Everyone, We need your help!!We are Maltese Rescue California,
is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers.
JEREMY is one of our very special rescue dogs needs to
have surgery on his heart....
At 8 weeks old, and weighing less than 3 pounds Jeremy was diagnosed with Patent Ductal Arteriosus (PDA).
PDA, first shows itself with severe coughing fits and difficulty breathing. Fluid is building up in the lungs and the dog is slowly suffocating. Seven in every One Thousand dogs are born with PDA, most do not survive. These dogs have breathing difficulties, coughing, lethargy, and are not able to play or exercise.
Surgery can be done open heart o insert stitches to shut off the ability for the cardiac fluid to fill the lungs, or a left atrial appendage can be placed with a catheter to prevent the dog from drowning in cardiac fluid.
This affliction is hereditary. Dogs with PDA SHOULD NOT BE BREAD. While Jeremy is under anesthesia, he will be neutered, like all Maltese Rescue California dogs, but this case will ensure that Jeremy can never pass on the PDA heart disease to future generations.
Although Jeremy's family loves him very much they are not positioned to afford surgical intervention. To save Jeremy, his family surrendered him to Maltese Rescue California, to assure he survives and has a happy future.
We are asking for
your help, his surgery will cost $3,700.00.
Maltese Rescue California is staffed entirely
by dedicated volunteers. The rescue volunteers
work tirelessly to ensure unwanted,
homeless Maltese are placed in permanent
loving homes.
Maltese come to our rescue from many
sources; animal shelters, animal control
agencies, owner surrenders, other rescue
groups, veterinarians, death of the
primary caretaker, people whose health
has changed, and those facing loss of home.
Together with your help we can make
a differnece!
Please, make a donation to help Jeremy get the
Heart surgery to prevent his deadly disease from claiming his life.
The money raised will be used to pay for his
surgery and any rehibilitation he will need
in his recovery.
We need to raise the funds as soon as possible to provide the urgently needed surgery to spare his young life.
Every dog rescued by Maltese Rescue California
is important. They all deserve a second chance.
Yet, every once in a great while there is a dog
that just tugs at your heart so deeply it requires
going above and beyond to help them live a
normal and healthy life.
Jeremy is that type of a dog. He is truly
deserving of his second chance as he is one
very special and remarkable dog!

adventures with his future forever family.
