Up at The O2 for Josephs Court

Donation protected
The O2 Arena in Greenwich is one of my favourite places and I have been going there for music concerts since Bon Jovi opened it back in 2007.
The O2 could accommodate the Eiffel Tower lying on its side.
If you turned the Dome upside down it would take 3.8 billion pints of beer to fill it up.
The roof consists of one million square feet of fabric. Talking of the roof...

We're Going to Conquer the Summit of London
The roof of the O2 is 52 metres high and the good people there have built a walkway with steps so that you can climb over their iconic roof. You become an explorer. Climb suit. Boots. Harness. Latch. Clip onto the walkway and go on up. Each person has a climb guide who is with you every step of the way and tells you about the sights. This is what my personal enabler (we hate the word carer) Helen is going to be doing on the 17th of June.

All that is wonderful for the able bodied but I hear you cry "I thought Jay was in a wheelchair?" well guess what, no I haven't lost the chair, but I'm going up and over the O2 in a wheelchair! I’ll climb with four guides who will use a pulley system to get me up and down. On the way down, I’ll descend backwards. Wheelchair climbs take up to three hours, for the able-bodied it's about 90 minutes. You can buy a ticket to join me if you fancy it??

So why are we putting ourselves through this well apart from being just a little bonkers (which I find helps with MS) we are looking to raise as much money as possible so that we can buy some very special equipment for another venue that is close to my heart...
Josephs Court is a one-of-a-kind MS centre of excellence where there is very specialised equipment that helps MSers maintain their strengthen and mobility. I visit 3 times a week and have noticed improvements in my strength, stamina and balance over the last 3 years. But Josephs Court is entirely self funded which means they are relying on fundraisers like this one in order to provide their vital service.
Please donate whatever you can to this fantastic cause so that I can provide more equipment to help us MSers to keep the MonSter at bay.
Depending on how much money is raised,  we would like to buy an inflatable lifting cushion.  This is a vital piece of equipment for getting wobbly MSers back up off of the floor should we take a tumble. If we exceed our target we'd like to purchase a disabled-friendly rowing machine  Whatever you can give is greatly appreciated please share this page with all your friends and I promise to reward you all with some amazing photographs, that is as long as me and my phone survive...
