Jesus Dream Church: Helping a Widow
This is the story of Ms. Y She is a widow.
The folks here at Jesus Dream Church got acquainted with Ms. Y a few months ago when a nurse from our congregation made a House Call visit to her house. This is her home.
Turns out she has been living alone for the last two years under these terrible conditions.
- large holes on ceilings
- severed electricity
- broken boiler
- mounds of garbage
- years of mold exposure
This Memorial Day Weekend 2016
Every year, our church goes on a vacation style family retreat, but this year we were convicted to take whatever we have and put it into serving the community!!
JDC will be cleaning up this house to make it a safe environment for Ms. Y to live in. As we work on this house, we want to cover these walls with prayers. So just as the newly patched roof will shelter this widow, these prayers will be a covering over her as well.

Any and all amounts are welcome. $50, $100, $200, even $1000! All contributions will go to purchasing building materials necessary to patch up the house.
Our church is a new church plant and we do not have enough funds to pay for all the construction materials that go into this project. But we cannot simply ignore the poverty of this woman's heart. Help us get Ms. Y back to her feet!
1) Fundraising EVENT

Kudo Society will be donating 50% of your payment to this charity!
So, come, eat and drink at the highest rated cafe in Palisades Park! We will have a team situated at an info booth on the storefront to raise awareness of the reality of the needs of widows in our local communities.
2) The Big Weekend (Service Project)
Location: Cresskill, NJ
Date: Saturday - Monday, May 28 - 30, 2016
Time: ask Soonja for detailed hours
We need volunteers to help put the house back together. The men at Jesus Dream have already started construction and electrical work on the house. But we need more hands to finish everything by Memorial Day.
What you could expect to do if you came:
- sanding walls and chipped paint
- cleaning, cleaning, & cleaning (a lot of dust)
- weeding the lawn
- touching up paint
- organizing large furniture
It will be a fun time working and BBQing outside. So if you and your friends want to volunteer any time during Memorial Day Weekend 2016, please message Soonja for more information!
