Dearest family, friends, colleagues and community members, There are no words to express the sadness that a mother feels when she loses a child.  Now imagine losing both of your children in less than one year.  It is baffling as to why this would happen to anyone.

It is with a heavy heart, great sadness, shock and disbelief  that  I write  to you about this "It Takes  A Village X2"  fundraiser, once again for my dear friend and coworker, Shelly Green.

Shelly lost her second son, Antonio unexpectedly on Sunday, July 24,2016 at the tender age of 19. Antonio was a sweet, smart, gentle and lovely young man.  He was also heartbroken when his older brother, Dante passed away last year.   They are now together, watching over their dearest mother, Shelly.

There are no words that can express our pain and sadness to Shelly but she has shared with me personally, that she feels the communal love carrying her, lifting her, protecting her from this tragic loss of her youngest child, Antonio.  It is our love, our prayers, our help that is keeping her afloat. Please give generously, if you can.  If 300 of us donate $100 each  we can reach the $30,000 goal. Every single donation makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.

As you imagine, Shelly is still recovering from Dante's passing emotionally, psychologically, spiritually and financially.  Now she has to heal from Antonio's passing as well.   Let us collectively lift this financial struggle out of Shelly's hands, so that she can focus on her healing and well being.

Every single donation will send a message to Shelly that she  and her boys are love and that they are  in the hearts and minds of our community.

I humbly thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Annia
Please note: This message is approved by Shelly and all donations will go directly to her bank account.

Dearest community, This update is from Sheldon's childhood friend:

ShelIey said, "I can only give all this worry to God. I'm tired and I don't have any more fight in me"

Please help my friend.

My childhood friend, Sheldon Greene , a single-parent widow, unexpectedly lost one of her two sons from a tragic mishap, and she is also at risk of losing her home because of the financial and emotional strain of it all... The loss of her mom followed by the loss of her oldest son and now potentially her home. I acknowledge her strength and fortitude because she has managed, through it all, not to experience the loss of her sanity.

Shelley told me that she is private, and within the GoFundMe account, the story is simply that she lost her son. I have gotten permission to detail what that actually looks like...

Shelley's son transitioned while the family, Shelley and her two sons, were on vacation in Europe. She had to leave her deceased son, Dante, in Europe, until she was able to collect $7.000, which was mostly funded by household funds and credit, to bring him home and pay the death and overseas hospital/doctor fees. The stateside funeral director still has her son's ashes because she can't afford the additional $10,000 cremation cost.

Dante abruptly became ill because of a misdiagnosed heart condition that involved a defective heart valve. The valve collapsed while they were on vacation and had his younger brother wake up to Dante dying, requiring the sibling to administer CPR along with a family friend. It was all to no avail, however, because Dante transitioned hours later in the hospital.

Dante was diagnosed with a defective heart valve in 8th grade by a pediatric cardiologist, who suggested a second opinion, which, in turn, ruled out the initial diagnoses. As such, to the family, all was well.

8 months prior to the death, college-going Dante was assaulted and nearly beaten to death, and those responsible left him with a fractured face, a fractured nose, and a fractured skull (severe concussion). Furthermore, the trauma further stressed his misdiagnosed heart condition. Most importantly, though, the violent crime stressed the spirit of Dante, who no longer wanted to live and was threatening suicide for which he was receiving counseling.

The trip occurred at a time when Dante and his family had found their groove again. Dante had a renewed look on his life and decided to live again as is illustrated by the vacation pictures. He was then in a JUCO, doing well with firm plans to study abroad for his bachelor's. There is a taped memorial that speaks to his great character.

Shelley has accrued $20,000 in debt from it all. The GoFundMe is an effort to restore financial stability to the family.

Above all pray for her and her family.

with love and gratitude,
Annia

Family, friends and community members, we have almost reached 1/4 of the fundraising goal for Dante's fundraising campaign. I know personally how much every donation means to Shelly. I see her at work regularly and she shares what a big difference your donations are making. She has big expenses that have been paid because of your help. Unfortunately, there are more expenses that are due. We are on the way to achieving our goal of $20,000! Please continue to share this fundraising page with others. It is making a huge difference.
