The Holtman's Flood Relief Fund

Briana Holtman is my sister and Adam Holtman is my brother in law, I ask you to take a moment and read about their story. On Memorial Day in Houston they were devastated in the floods that consumed our city. Their house is absolutely destroyed; their first house that they bought as a married couple not even four months ago was completely obliterated by the torrential flooding Houston experienced. Adam and my sister Briana sat huddled on their bed with their two dogs and two cats as they slowly watched the water rise in their home, rise until almost everything was destroyed. The restoration company that came out labeled it a level three-contamination because it was mainly sewage water that flooded their house from the city's backed up water system. Currently, the house is unlivable and their animals are in the care of others. The restoration company also said it will take thousands upon thousands of dollars to clean up the house and restore it to a livable condition.  And that's just the beginning as they will have to replace everything from flooring to cabinetry, tile work, doors, walls, furniture, personal items, etc.  Almost nothing at their home is salvageable. Briana and Adam's clothes, their shoes, their appliances, the very foundation upon which their house sits is toxic. They are devastated. Now, please take a moment and ask yourself if this were your house, your pets, your life, what would you do? How would you feel? Currently they are drowning under the pressure of incoming expenses in order to do the maintenance necessary to get the water out of their house. Unfortunately, they do not have flood insurance and have minimal means to cover the cost to restore their home. Briana and Adam are good, caring people in need of a helping hand, and what has become of individuals and humanity in general if we do not help those who are in need of it?
