High Voltage's Server Repairs

A good friend of mine has recently run into some trouble with his backup server. After fixing a problem that arose in the BIOS of the server causing it to power cycle randomly caused by a bad RAM setting, he found that several of his hard drives were fried. And with his current financial position he's unable to repair it and uses this server for several projects. It would be most appreciated for helping aid him get it back up and running again. to explain what the funds will be used for, so as to be up front with anyone willing to possibly help out: I had a bad power supply cable, plugged into the fried hard drives that was sending power to ground and ground to the power cables. I will use the funds to purchase second hand hard drives off of either ebay or amazon just to replace the dead drives at the lowest cost possible. if somehow the goal is both met, AND exceeded, the excess funding will be put towards additional hardware to further increase the reliability, and capability for drives to fail without taking the storage system offline again like it is right now given I do not have enough drives to get it up and running again.
anything above and beyond the minimum required 500 to replace the 8 drives that died, will be put to good use, and still be put towards what this entire thing is set up to fix in the first place, however I cannot get anything any cheaper than the goal of 500 allows for, because the drives I need to replace are 3 terabyte desktop drives, that I got second hand to begin with because its whats affordable. the cheapest I can find these things is on ebay, whitelabel 3 tb drives for 60$ a pop, and I have 8 that fried on me. I cannot get cheaper if I tried.
