Help keep baby Lukas at home

Lukas, 1 year old, (pictured) tragically lost his mother (pictured in the middle) tonight in a car accident. He and his mom have lived in Stephanie’s (pictured to the left) home since Lukas was a newborn so, essentially his entire life. My mom, Stephanie, took them in when they were put on the streets by family when he was very small and he has been with her since. He was always with his mom during the day while my mom worked and when she got off work each day she would take over for Payton; as she would work at night. My mom has fed, clothed, changed, and loved this child as her own grandbaby for an entire year. She was at the hospital when he was born, spent many sleepless nights awake with him since, and cared for him every time he’s been ill. We have never looked at him as anything less than family. Now that his mother has passed on, the very family member that put them on the streets almost a year ago is threatening to take him from the only family and home he knows. This would devastate him. He is so attached to my mother as she is to him. We know all of our paths crossed for a reason and we are so blessed to have one another. Unfortunately, our fight to keep him and prove the other party unfit will cost money that we simply don’t have.
