Hats For Homeless NYC 2015
We are a group of music and fashion professionals living in and around New York City, who wanted a way to give back to our community this holiday season.
One of our biggest concerns was seeing the homeless on the streets and in shelters without proper winter clothing, especially families. As of October 2015, there were over 59,000 homeless people, including 14,361 homeless families with 23,858 homeless children, sleeping each night in the New York City municipal shelter system. Families comprise nearly four-fifths of the homeless shelter population.*
Because of the industry we are in, we have access to great deals on merchandise such as Hats, Scarves, and Hand Warmers. We decided to pool our resources to purchase these items and personally deliver them to NYC’s homeless on Saturday December 19th 2015.
The entire event will be documented on camera with videos and photos in order to share with our friends, families, and supporters.
So far, we have purchased 500 items with our own funds, however, given the statistics, that is not enough. With your support we hope to reach our goal of purchasing 1,000 cold weather accessories for the homeless.100% of donations will go directly towards purchasing items for the homeless.
