Bring music to the underprivileged

Music is a gift
and a joy for everyone to share. Sometimes, through no fault of their own, people do not have the chance to go to concerts, hear live musicians, practice music, or be exposed to new types of music. This is especially true for children in underprivileged schools, the elderly in nursing homes and assisted living, the sick in hospitals, and military veterans.
Harmonie Music of Baton Rouge wants to change that. No person, whether child or adult, should be denied access to quality music or the ability to interact with devoted musicians. Having a flesh and blood group play for you is a unique experience that a recording does not give.
Classical music has been shown to help children develop a stronger intellect as well as other needed skills in school. Music has also been shown to ease pain and suffering in the sick or bring back fond memories for the elderly.
We wish to bring the joy and inspiration music gives to anyone who wants it, free of charge to them and their families, as well as our community. As college students and amateur musicians, our dream is a hard one to realize on our own, but with help and dedication, we will bring music to anyone who desires it.
Music is a gift, and no person should be denied it, no matter their social status, skin color, religion, monetary status, or where they live.
