Haley's Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
Hi everyone I'm Amanda and I'm asking for your help. Not for me, for my friend Haley Cuthbert (Wilkinson). She's currently undergoing treatment for a rare and aggressive form of cervical cancer. This means she can 't do all the things she used to do, like be a wife, mother, nurse, animal rescuer and friend. She is basically a superhero.
Haley is married to Phil, who she met in primary school. They went their separate ways after high school. Haley became a nurse and worked in at Royal Perth and Fremantle hospitals. She did countless hours of volunteer work for animal rescues, caring for cats and kittens.
Then Haley and Phil re-connected. Little man Ash arrived so they bit the bullet and walked down the aisle. Superwoman took some time out from nursing to be Mummy, and look after a bazillion cats/kittens. Then she decided to return to work because life wasn't busy enough.
Haley and Phil decided it was time to grow their little family. Haley was soon expecting squishy number 2.
That's when it all started to fall apart. Any blood sends fear to the heart of an expectant mother and Haley continued to bleed on and off. Scans all showed squishy was fine. So the Docs investigated further.
Initially it was hoped the growth on Haley's cervix was a fibroid. Tests proved that it wasn't. It was cancer. It was high grade small cells neuroendocrine carcinoma (mainly found in other areas of the body, usually the lungs). Basically the biggest baddest cancer around, and it was growing and growing fast.
Through talking with the doctors Haley and Phil's worst fears were confirmed.  This cancer was not treatable while Haley was pregnant. Delaying treatment until squishy was viable would greatly reduce Haley's chances of survival (basically she wouldn't survive). Squishy was too small to survive.
On December 14th this year little Ayla Kathleen Cuthbert was born sleeping.
Haley required a surgical procedure called a hysterotomy (like a mini c-section) to allow her delivery.
The tumour now measures just over 5cm and has a complex blood supply system. For this reason the team of doctors have left it in place as removing it may mean sudden drastic blood loss (bleed to death).
So now Haley is staring down the barrel of months of chemo, radiation therapy and probably more surgery. All while she greives the loss of little Ayla.
As we all know money makes the world go round. Haley has no sick leave left. Phil has to use his to go to appointments with his wife. The household has dropped an entire income with added expenses. Parking, fuel etc
What really matters is young Ash. He was attending daycare 5 days a week while Haley and Phil worked. We would like to see him continue. This means Phil can still work. Haley isn't able to keep an almost 3 year old amused or even supervised , she can barely shower by herself.
Currently Haley's fabulous collegues have collected enough to help them get though Christmas and New Yearbut there will be ongoing expenses going forward.
Words can't express how much pain this family is in right now. All I want its to make their lives just a little bit easier. And if that means not having to worry about Ash being cared for and safe, that's what I'll try to do.

Thankyou Everyone.  Let's show this family some love.
