HPU MLAX Tunnel to Towers Run

High Point Family and Friends,
The High Point University men’s lacrosse team is planning a team building event in New York City on September 23rd –September 25th to honor the fallen heroes of the September 11th attacks. Our team will be running the Tunnel to Towers Run in honor of senior men’s lacrosse player Mick Horrocks father, Michael Horrocks, United Airlines flight 175 First Officer.
We as a team commit on a daily basis to be a part of something greater than we are as individuals. We commit to living out each day with integrity, honor, hard work, intensity and we put the greater good of the team in front of our own desires. We commit everyday to support our coaches, teammates and team staff with every action and deed. We do so because that commitment provides an opportunity for us to make a lasting impact on our lives and the lives of others. .
The firefighters, police officers and first responders on September 11th committed to something greater as a team then they were as individuals. Their acts on that tragic day will long be remembered and honored as selfless acts of heroism. We, as a team, would like to follow in their footsteps and be a part of something that as a whole is greater than one individual, but we need your help!
We ask that if you have the means to do so that you help our team make the journey to the Big Apple to honor Mick, his family and his father, who is truly an American hero. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
As the head coach of the High Point University men’s lacrosse team I will start off by donating $500.00 to make this trip possible.
