Heart of a Champion Africa is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to address the 'crisis of character' we face on the continent by offering a character development programme for high school students across the continent. My name is Cliff Musamba, I am the Executive Director of HOCA.
Africa is faced with issues such as Corruption, Crime, Violence etc. If you take a closer look at each of these issues you will notice that they are all fundamentally character issues. The biggest crisis we are faced with is a 'crisis of character'. It's going to be impossible to solve any of these problems without addressing the root cause - CHARACTER! That is where HOCA comes in.
The HOCA programme is an easy-to-use tool that has been designed to help educators effectively teach character in schools. The programme teaches nine core character traits; commitment, leadership, perseverance, teamwork, respect, integrity, responsibility, self-control and compassion.
HOCA needs your help to get this great tool into schools all over the continent. We are asking for R3,500 to underwrite each of the EIGHT REMAINING HOCA WORKBOOKS.
Funds will be used in the completion of the material and printing 1,000 workbooks that will go into schools in South Africa & Zimbabwe from the second half of 2014. We have raised $11,200 for the Integrity workbook and this will be first to go into schools.
We are asking for individual or corporate donations of any amount. As a token of appreciation for your generous donations, names of all the donors will be imprinted into the back cover of the workbook.
