Help build a website for Veterans

GY6V.com (Got Your Back Veteran) is a website for Veterans of our armed services. Where they can go to post ways they can help fellow Veterans or request assistance from fellow Veterans. Requests such as a ride, help with yard work or projects such as home or car repair. A site providing a place where Veterans can simply reach out to each other.
The Idea...
The idea for the website came to me while I was delivering mail to a Veteran- - he had recently signed up for medical benefits from the VA and was happy to be getting eyeglasses and hearing aids-- he told me he had an appointment in a few days but his truck was broke down and feared he would miss it. I, having friends that are Veterans, knew the VA could give him a ride to his appointment and suggested that he try that. He thanked me, said he didn't want to do that and though the trucks problem was minor; he would need help repairing it and he would hopefully figure something out.
As I left him I wondered if there was someplace he could comfortably ask for help-- from a fellow Veteran maybe; because he was new to the VA I thought perhaps he didn't know many other Veterans-- maybe there was a group online... I looked into it and couldn't find one. I asked a Veteran friend if he knew of such a service- he did not but thought it would be useful. I contacted the local VA and Community Action Veteran Service Officers whom also did not know of any existing sites but thought it would be a helpful tool for Veterans.
So I decided to have one made.
GY6V- Got Your Back Veteran is being built by a highly respected local company. They have a completion date of mid-May. After my initial payment- just over $9000.00 is owed. I plan on paying as much as possible with my personal money-plus whatever extra I can raise. I have a hard time asking for help but this is important to me so I'm asking. To fund it myself would take much longer than the mid-May completion date and I would like it to be up and running, providing for Veterans as soon as possible.
I plan on leaving this Go Fund Me request active until the completion date. All of the money goes directly to the company building the site. Anything over the nine thousand collected will be donated to the Mid-Ohio Valley Veterans Outreach... A local organization of Veterans and groups that provide Veterans services.
As a final note, this is starting as a local, mid-Ohio valley service. It is being built with the ability to spread to any and all communities whom feel it would benefit their local Veterans.
