Casper's Fund

$900 of $20,000 goal

Raised by 7 people in 34 months
Giant Hearts Giant Dog Rescue is a giant dog rescue that specializes in mastiffs , Great Danes, Saint Bernards, and other gentle giants. The incredibly special thing about GHGDR, is that they do not turn any dog away for medical needs no matter how big the needs may be.

Many of you remember Casper and his sister Gracie who came to us in very bad condition. They were both severly emaciated, had whip worms, and a long road to recovery. Casper has very severe intestinal issues that went well beyond worms. Gracie recovered nicely and was adopted out, but unfortunately Casper could never get well enough to be adopted out.

Casper was provided with top notch care. He had multiple episodes of bloat, often requiring surgery to fix it. He saw multiple specialist and was on a lot of medication. We did everything possible to try to save this amazing boy but sadly he couldn't overcome his issues and we lost him.

Casper was the sweetest most loving dog. He enjoyed having his people throw his kong for him and just being near you. He touched everyone's life here at GHGDR and is truly missed. We talk about Casper and our fond memories of this strong boy often. We all have his paw print on our heart. This fund is to honor his memory and to help GHGDR fulfill their mission in helping dogs like Casper.

Here is our most recent medical need dog that we helped through Casper's Fund. This is Pearl, it turned out to be a tumor on her eye that was very vascular and wouldn't stop bleeding.

Delilah came to us 10/17/15 . She has rear leg lameness either in the hips or knees. She will go in for evaluation and then we will work on raising the funds needed for her surgery. If it's ACL we are looking at around $1000, if it's hips, we do not know how much this will cost.

In just one short week Giant Hearts was able to accumulate $840.00 in vet bills! We had the puppies go in for their first shots which totaled up to $340.00. Gracie had to get her medicine, costing $126.00. Hera got to get spayed so she could be adopted, costing $165.00. And sadly, our forever foster Dink couldn't hang in anymore and had to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Her final visit was $210.00.
We do everything we can for these babies. Without the love and support from our wonderful contributors, it would not be possible.
