The Fresh Water Mission for Flint

Donation protected
April, 2014, for many of us here in New York that month doesn't mean much.  Patiently waiting for the warmer Spring months to finally arrive I'm sure.  For us, it was the start of a new season, but for the people of Flint Michigan, it was the start of a crisis. My name is Connor Costello and I am 24 years old. I am from New Rochelle New York and like many others  I have only recently heard about this issue for it has drawn much attention these past few months but the most unfortunate part about this awful situation is that the people of Flint have been dealing with this unprecedented crisis for over a year now.  Think about that for a minute.  Water, the most essential aspect of life itself, is not available for these people to keep them and their families alive essentially.  It is unfathomable that  human beings in our country, which is and always will be the greatest country this world has ever known, do not have access to safe water.  I have been in contact with multiple residents of Flint, including a few that work at the local food bank, via e-mail and they have assured me that the situation is as dire as it appears on the news.  They are in desperate need of bottled water to provide to the people of Flint.  This project is not seeking any attention for our efforts, we strictly want to help those in need and we have realized that it is completely in our power to do so.  You don't have to be a celebrity, philanthropist or a professional athlete in this country to help those in need.  I want to show that even if you're not raising hundreds of thousands of dollars, it is still possible to make a difference in the lives of those in Flint Michigan and that is the only thing that we intend to do.  I set the goal at $5000.00 which would be enough to rent a U-Haul Truck and use the remainder to purchase water to hand deliver in Flint Michigan.  I have arranged to purchase 10 pallets of water which cost about $287.00 each which would amount to around $2870.00.  With the truck rental costing about $1600.00, there should be just enough money left over for fuel for the trip.  The water will be personally delivered to the Foodbank of Eastern Michigan located at  2300 Lapeer Road Flint, Michigan 48503. Everything will be documented and every dollar will go towards the mission.  We have been in contact with potential additional water donors and we are open to anyone who would donate any amount of bottled water that they could.  It is a 10-12 hour drive to Flint Michigan and I intend to enjoy every minute of it.....thank you immensely in advance for your generosity and we hope to make many more trips in the future.  It is so easy for us to help the people of Flint...one trip at a time.

*Please contact me if you would like to donate water for our mission*

*If anyone would be interested in joining the trip we could use the help on the road so please contact me *
