Fly Steve to Fla. for the winter!

Our friend Steve Liebenhaut is nearly homebound this winter, as cold winter weather is so hard on his body.
Our friend is very fragile now. Even hugs can damage his weakened bones, affected by a cancer that leaches the calcium out of his body.
His spine is so compromised it had to be surgially strengthened. He's thin, and freezing WNC temperatures are hard on a multiple myeloma cancer patient who takes morphine for constant, severe, daily bone pain.
And winter is weeks from being over.
BUT....
If we send Steve SOUTH TO FLORIDA FOR THE WINTER, in warm weather he can get out of the house.
He can enjoy life more. Get some strengthening exercise, spend time with family, and enjoy a MUCH higher quality of life with less pain and discomfort than he would be forced to live with in N.C., homebound and isolated for days on end--all winter long.
He has asked his friends to help him get through the next few months in comfort, not stuck inside and dealing with isolation and extra, unneccessary pain on top of what he already lives with, on a daily basis.
Let's send Steve to South Florida for February and March!
Steve's friends are raising:
$170 for round-trip airfare from Asheville to South Florida
$1200 for two months' rent in a modest apartment
$150 for two months of utilities
$160 for transportation/bus/cab fees while in Florida (Steve does not drive)
$20 for GoFundMeFees and for a nice even number
*$1700 total for two comfortable, happy, healing months in Florida away from the cold*
From Steve himself:
"I'm virtually home-bound during the winter with never a dull moment as I'm always in pain and need to take so much morphine.
In Florida I can walk up to three miles a day. I have tremendous energy and my attitude is far from depressed. I take less pain pills, and more often than not I somehow can totally do without a dosage. It's a definite and positive change for me, and I'd be so grateful if this can happen."
