Farrrington Family Fundraiser

$21,510 of $25,000 goal

This campaign to help raise money for Justin, Jessica, and their 3 children. They lost their home to a horrible fire in Glen Ellen and are currently staying with family. They walked away safe but with only the clothes on their back. For those in the VPD family who don't know him, Justin was a Vallejo Police Officer before transferring closer to Santa Rosa closer to home and it an amazing guy who would do anything for anyone. My hope is that we can come together and help their family during this horrific time. Justin and Jessica are friends of mine and I used to work with Justin. All money will go directly to them to help recover.

Jessica "It was just stuff....

But it was my stuff. We didn't have a lot, but it all had a meaning, a memory, a story. It was my children's baby stuff. If was my childhood memories. It was My husband and I's first concert tickets. It was our photos. It was a dress that wore as a child, that I couldn't wait for my daughter to grow into. It was my wedding ring. Our wedding photos. Photos taken on a 35mm that can never be recovered in "the cloud." It was my china handed down to me by my grandmother. My ridiculous shoe and handbag collection. My favorite childhood stuffed animal, Bengi. My business. Baby photos of my boys. My favorite pink sweatshirt. The list goes on and on....

Jessica: “I haven't seen my husband in over a week.... I miss him. But he fights on to protect! He is a protector!

The night of the fire was a normal work night for him. It was just a normal night... but then suddenly everything changed.

I repeat the events of that night over and over in my head constantly everyday. From the phone call I made to my husband asking where the fire was, until.... well, now.

It has been a week now, tonight at 11:19pm, that the fires have started. The fires that have devastated my sweet town, swallowed my home, and over 5,000 others. It has been one week. But yet, time has been at a stand still. It is still early Monday for me. Stuck in the night my family and animals have fled our home with only the clothes on our backs. Our lives turned upside down. Everything as we knew it. Changed. Forever.

But.... my husband. This man right right here. He is the hero, my hero! He has worked 12 hour shifts since that night, evacuating people with only moments to spare. "Get out now," he would have to repeat those words thousands of times so that they could save their families too! His week has been full of ups and downs and has seen the horrific scenes this fire has brought to our county. He has heard the cries, the screams. He has fought of looters (yeah you read that right, can you believe it?!) to ensure those who were evacuated have all of their belongings to come home to. Every morning when he returned to my parents to sleep he was covered in soot. Some days he didn't shower so he could sleep just one. more. hour. Most days he only gets just a few hours of sleep.

Through it all, through the tears, through the reality that everything he has worked so hard for our family is now gone, he fights on! He fights on to save the city he vowed to protect! Fire or not. He is a protector. He is MY protector. He wears a badge among many other brother and sisters in blue. So many who share the same story as him. So many with families just like mine. Just like yours. But.... through it all, they still protect!

They are OUR protectors! ‍‍✈️”

Justin writes “Our home is gone! We still have our family intact! The flag was untouched! We will prevail. Words cannot express how I feel about all the support we have received from family, friends and people we have never met! The FARRINGTON family is indebted to you! Thank you all!!!
