$11 for 11 years!

Tax deductible
The Family Justice Center (FJC) is celebrating 10 years of serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in St. Joseph County! Your donation of $10 supports the work being done by the FJC every day, to build a safe, healthy community that is free from domestic violence and sexual assault.

The FJC opened its doors on February 22, 2007 and is a one-stop center for survivors and their families. Survivors can receive advocacy and safety planning, assistance and/or representation with a protective order, therapy and group counseling, and much much more. All of our services are completely free to our clients.

Our clients often tell us that we are the "best kept "secret" in town.

We all have something at stake when it comes to intimate partner violence.

ONE in THREE:  The number of women who will be a victim of intimate partner violence in their lifetimes. It is all around you.  It impacts all genders, races, ages, the rich and the poor, and all sexualities.

ONE in FOUR:  Men who are victims of physical violence by an intimate partnter.

SEVEN: It takes the average victim SEVEN times to leave an abuser. Beyond the physical abuse, when a victim leaves an abuser, they are leaving behind a world of power and control. He controls what she does, who she sees, who she speaks to, whether she can work or even drive, and he controls her finances.

98%: Financial abuse takes place in 98% of domestic violence cases. The number one reason that that a victim stays with the abuser is because the abuser controls the money supply.

THREE TO FOUR: Worldwide, men who were exposed to domestic violence as children are THREE TO FOUR TIMES more likely to perpetrate intimate violence as adults, than men who did not experience domestic violence as children.

These are the numbers, and the staggering reality is that domestic violence impacts each and every one of us, our children, and the community in which we live.

Thank you for your continued support as the FJC works to create a safety net for survivors!
