Ensley Cinema House

Donation protected
Imagine Ensley's vacant storefronts and buildings activated to their fullest potential and generating a renewed sense of community through the use of arts, entertainment, and cultural enrichment.

When the Birmingham Police Department moved from its old precinct in the 600 block of 19th Street to new quarters in Five Points West, a unique opportunity arose. Now it’s time to enter into a new chapter.

During REVIVE, the Ensley arts community, historians and other volunteers will turn this underutilized building into a Cinema House – a unique gathering space for the community to enjoy classic films and workshops.

On Saturday, November 7 from 9am-1pm, volunteers will help activate the former West Precinct into the Ensley Cinema House.  Yay-sayers will string lights, paint walls, and stage the building to create a public gathering space.  Construction experts will be on hand for safety measures and to provide guidance.

How can you help? Show up (and/or) donate today to create a space for our community to gather.
