Edith Memorial Caregivers Fund

Donation protected
After a life changing fall in 2013 at the age of 97, Edith needed the help of caregivers. Caregivers for the elderly, especially the elderly with dementia and other age related, personality-changing disorders, have one of the most important and difficult jobs. Yet these caregivers are often among the most under-appreciated, under-praised and under-rewarded.

The family of Edith Silvestri would like to show their appreciation in a small but meaningful way to those who took care of Edith at the Oasis Rest Home during the last 8 months of her life.

The employees at the Oasis Rest Home understood Edith's needs and compassionately cared for her with joyful spirit when others couldn't or wouldn't. They exemplified the best qualities of caregivers, providing gentle and loving care, often in the most difficult of situations. They deserve to be thanked and rewarded in any way our family can provide.

The Edith Memorial Campaign has been set up for the benefit of the employees at the Oasis Rest Home. The funds will serve as a source of capital that can provide interest-free loans for deserving caregivers for such things as child care needs, educational costs or any unexpected financial needs. The Silvestri family hopes these funds will help provide support for employees who work so hard and care so much for the residents at the Oasis Rest Home.

The money raised by the Edith Campaign will be administered by the Oasis Rest Home and overseen by the children of Edith's family to ensure that every dollar of the money raised is used for the benefit of employees.
