Bring Eduardo to Final Kings Game

Donation protected
My name is Joe Cook and I am creating this campaign for my friend Eduardo in Chile.

It takes a special kind of person to be a loyal Kings fan. We have endured more heartbreak, controversy and frustration than any other fan base I can think of. Even in Sacramento, the loyal ones are far and few between. That is why it always amazes me that we have so many loyal fans outside of Sacramento. Not only outside of Sacramento, but outside of the country.

One of such fans is Eduardo in Chile. I first met Ed through twitter (@edspich). Like Danny in England and our other international fans, social media is really the only chance we have to connect w/ them other than when they make the occasional call in to the Grant Nappear show from overseas. After about a year of talking all things Kings via Twitter an opportunity to make a face to face meeting became possible. Through the international FIFA lottery I was able to score tickets to watch the USA play in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. I figured that if I spent all that money to get down to South America, I might as well see some of it. So in the summer of 2014 I had the opportunity to meet Ed in Valparaiso Chile. I gave him the King's jersey I had been carrying through Brazil and we spent a few days together drinking Chilean beers and wine and talking about the Kings. My mind was blown about how much he knew about the Kings and NBA in general. More than most season ticket holders I know. The highlight was calling into Grant one evening. Grant even put USA Today's Sam Amick on hold to take our call. Upon leaving Ed told me that his dream was to come to Sacramento and make it to a game at Arco before the Kings move. I told him that if he ever came, he had a place to stay.

Well the good news is that Ed has scraped and saved and has spent his life's saving to come to Sacramento. That's a line you don't hear very often. Also to put things in perspective the minimum wage in Chile is $2.02 per hour and a flight to Sacramento is a minimum of $1,000 so you do the math.

So what this crowd fund is truly for is making it possible for Ed to have the best experience while he is here. Money will be spent on all things King's related, food, transportation, etc...basically anything you and I would want to enjoy on vacation. We are also going to plan a trip to an A's game (he's a big fan) and I'm going to force him to a Giant's game as well :)

I know that there are stories of people w/ much greater needs on gofundme. This campaign is really targeted at our extended Kings family. I hope you can find it in your hearts to help one of our brothers out. I know that there are many people that will because of the photo. Those jerseys were all sent by King's fans. Eduardo has sacrificed so much to get here, the least we can do is make sure he is shown a great time. If you are interested in donating in any other way please contact me at [email redacted]. Thanks in advance for your support!

He arrives March 29th!
