ELGIN volunteers garden fund
ELGIN - Past to Present Facebook Group Members are attempting to raise funding for Elgin's voluntary gardening teams who work hard all year round to maintain the flower beds at Ladyhill and other public spaces locations within Elgin.
NOTE - £144 for the use of brown bins at Ladyhill is our initial target but I'm sure more areas need our help.
Moray Council’s new brown bin charges could force these voluntary groups to have to stop because Moray Council won't or can't give an exemption for these brown bin garden waste charges - these voluntary community gardener groups are expected to pay but have no funding because they currently run on the good will of voluntary plant donations and free labour.
Any funding would be very much appreciated.
- Any extra cash raised could go to all the other community gardeners in ELGIN facing the same charge.
If we still had cash left over it would go to group members nominating suggested causes within Elgin then to group members vote.
