Donna For Democrats

At 15 I started protesting the Vietnam War and then marched to support passage of the ERA and in favor of Roe v Wade.  I spent 30 years in public service working with and lobbying state legislators to pass laws to help Nevada citizens.  I learned how important state elections are and the importance in engaging government to make change happen. I also was an active volunteer in our community with organizations such as the Organ Donor Network and Planned Parenthood.

After I retired from state government I was able to become more politically active.  I am a  lifelong Democrat and have always supported Democratic candidates.  I volunteered for John Kerry's campaign.  I also continued volunteer for issue driven groups.

When Nevada began using the caucus system in 2008 I was thrilled to serve as a precinct chair.  I was a county delegate for Hillary Clinton and then went on to phone bank and volunteer with Obama for Nevada.  In 2012 I was among the first to volunteer for the campaign to re elect President Obama.  I served on the digital team and worked at events.  I volunteered on Day One of the 2016 campaign and worked every day to elect Democrats up and down the ticket.  In addition to volunteering on the presidential, CD1, CD3 and CD4 races I also worked for state senate, assembly and judge campaigns. I phone banked, canvassed, posted on social media, trained precinct captains, served as a caucus site leader and operated a satellite field office in my garage for the coordinated campaign. I am also an active volunteer with Planned Parenthood, Naral Pro Choice, Battle Born Progress and Nevada Conservation League.  I am a member of the Nevada's Women Lobby, ACLU, Women's Democratic Club of Clark County, Asian Pacific Islander Democratic Caucus and other local Democratic clubs. I serve as the state coordinator for UniteBlueNV.

The next logical step for me is to step in a leadership in the Democratic Party.  I want to continue to help elect Democrats.  Nevada faces a critical election in 2018 with a US Senate seat, our 3 Democratically held congressional seats and all of our state constitutional offices and state Assembly seats on the ballot.   I am running to chair the Clark County Democratic Party in Nevada.  I want to build on our 2016 success and continue to turn Nevada blue.    Funds raised will be used for my campaign including cmapaign materials and outreach.  

I would appreciate any donation of any amount.  I will be launching my campaign on May 11.  Any funds remaining when my campaign ends with the county party elections on July 8 will be donated to the county party.
