DIANNE FOR BERNIE IN PHILLY
Hi! I'm DIANNE FOWLER. I am thrilled to be a Michigan District 10 Delegate. It was an amazing experience full of excitement, surprise, innovation, lively protesting and making long-lasting friendships and memories.
Instead of staying in the "designated" Michigan Delegation Hotel - the Valley Forge Casino complex I stayed at the local Quaker Retreat Center - Pendle Hill. It was a perfect place to get grounded and get a good nights sleep after very intense days of literally doing battle with the DNC and the Clinton Campaign enforcers.
I don't know any other word that would properly express how those people related to the Bernie Sanders Delegates. The enforcers were rude, combative, invasive, openly dismissive/divissive and clueless with respect to most of the issues and clueless regarding their own candidates history, performance and platform. Yes, it was a rough ride and I'm not talking about the plane ride.
The plane ride from Detroit on Saturday was unremarkable except for the smaller than usual Spirit Airlines plane. However after two hours waiting for our luggage a group of us were told that somehow our bags were still in Detroit. At the suggestion of the Airline we were told to go buy $50 worth of clothes and toiletries to get through until our bags arrived. I was booked solid with meetings and commitments over the next six days that I learned how to use my carry-on clothes and the slacks and toiletries I bought at Target for the next six days. I left my bag at the airport until it was time to fly home. Hey, I'm an avid camper. It was very similar - lol
On Sunday night a group of Bernie Delegates met for dinner at a local restaurant to hear a compelling presentation from Election Justice USA about current and pending lawsuits and the data proving the suspected election irregularities. We received a long report which I can provide to you in pdf form if you wish.
Starting Monday morning and for the next three days we met for breakfast and to receive our official credentials at 7am. Political speakers would address us while we ate and while we waited for the buses to take us downtown to the Convention Center where we could caucus in groups around topics such as women, seniors, LGBTQ, etc. The convention center also provided the opportunity to visit booths of lots of nonprofits and special interest groups offering literature, buttons, free tshirts and more,

My Prior Service to the Bernie2016 Campaign
I served as the lead volunteer for St. Clair County for Bernie. I arranged for a donated office and worked with an awesome group of volunteers for Get Out The Vote events leading up to the Michigan Primary.

We cannot afford to lose a single delegate over finances. We held the line to get Bernie to the convention. It's time to get his delegates there as well. Thank you!
