visit sick mother in brazil

My name is Debora Silva, and I am an American, but my mom lives in brazil. I haven't seen my mom in two years and she's very sick, and I really need to see her before anything happens. I need your help to pay for the tickets for my brother and I. My dad has no way to afford these tickets. The tickets keep going up in price because of the world cup, and I would be going in the summer, so I wouldn't miss any school.

I don't really have a great life story but hopefully this will teach people not to make the mistakes I did throughout my life. My dad and my mom got divorced when I was about 9 years old and everything bad started happening from there, I never had both of my parents with me since then, I had my mom in Brazil with me, and I never accepted the fact that they divorced because I wanted to be a "normal" child with both of my parents.

I came back to the US to live with my sister, but that didn't work, so I went back to Brazil. My dad couldn't keep me in the US, because he was sharing his apartment with adult men co-workers. In Brazil, my stepdad was abusive, and I eventually came back. By working two jobs, and sharing with only one other man, my dad was able to take my brother and me in.

My mom and stepdad are not together any more. I talk to her on the phone a lot, and she always says she thinks of me and my brother every day, and wishes she could hug us again.
