Deaf Night Out Baseball Games

Hi everyone
Summer is almost here, and I am kicking off my fall/winter fundraising. This fall we plan to continue our Deaf Baseball nights, at minor league ballparks, and this winter I plan to host at least one Christmas Party for the Deaf and the homeless.
For those who are not familiar with what I do. I train the deaf in building trades and encourage them to get involved in the community. One of the biggest obstacles to Deaf inclusion, is the fact that much of the Deaf community has remained in isolation, for generations. Through events like the Christmas Party and the Deaf Baseball Nights, we are able to gather kids from both hearing and deaf backgrounds for an enjoyable night in a public setting.
Deaf Baseball Nights:
With your help, we provided tickets and food, to members of the Deaf community for a night of Minor League Baseball which included a performance of the National Anthem, in sign language, and a gift from the team, for each person.
This year I am extending this offer to homeless children, as well.
Christmas Party:
Last year I hosted the first ever Mav Project Christmas Party. The event was held at Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City. Kids from both the Homeless and Deaf communities attended, and were treated to a day of snow tubing on the ballpark slides, hot chocolate, and a meal from Braums.
Volunteering:
One of the best ways we have found, to connect the Deaf Community with the hearing community, is through volunteering at community events. I encourage members of the Deaf community to volunteer at local events, and help them find the resources they need. This is a great, low pressure way for Deaf people to showcase their skills in a work environment.
Paint Projects:
The paint projects for 2018 are ongoing, and thanks to generous support from individuals and sponsors, this part of the project has been fully funded.

The goal is a little higher this time around. The tickets for these events really add up, and I am hopingwith your help, to make the events accessible to more people, than ever.
